Overview
BEEC (Black Educator Excellence Cohort) is a national initiative supporting Black and African American educators across TNTP's 7 fellowship programs. The BEEC was created to tackle the challenge of significant barriers and support through training and development initiatives. With BEEC being a sub-brand of TNTP, the stakeholders wanted to be sure it had a distinct look and feel, specifically for this teaching fellow.
The stakeholders suggested a bold and powerful, yet simple statement to represent black educators, with the use of colors such as yellow, green, black, and red. They wanted the vision to be clear conceptually through branding, and relatable.
the 3-step process
DISCOVERY
I met with a director of BEEC to discuss more about the teaching fellow, brand inspiration, and unique qualities.
STRATEGIZE
I developed a mood board to draw inspiration and direction for the design and brand elements to use for marketing.
DESIGN
The logo was fully designed in Adobe Illustrator.
In response to stakeholder feedback, a complementary element was created. This particular element conceptually references the connection of education, growth, limitless possibilities with the pencil paper plane.
